Students Will Start Blogging

The seventh graders at the DCG Middle School will be making comments concerning their experience in shop on this blog. They will tell about the modules they work on, the projects they make, and, hopefully, what they have learned. For the educationally minded, you can consider this a form of assessment. There are probably several other educational buzz words (CRISS, etc.) that could describe this activity that is being placed in the curriculum along with the 20+ other shop modules. We also introduce residential wiring, construction, cnc lathe, cnc mill, electronics, dc motors, design and production, soldering, galvanized pipe, metal bending, podcasting, cad, lawn mower engine assembly, and more, including woodworking. Our most recent addition is video recording, editing, processing and uploading to SchoolTube. We do all that in nine weeks with 150+ seventh grade boys and girls. If you follow this blog you will get a chance to see their work (uploaded photos), watch them work, play and learn (uploaded videos) and read (uploaded blogs) their comments. In fact, with all that, you can be the evaluator of the student's learning and make your own comments. You can even assign a grade (A, B, C, D, or F) if it will help finish the cycle of education. Let's see what they do.
