22 Stations for Sixth Grade Intro to Shop

Tomorrow the sixth graders will rotate through these 22 stations. We have spent the first two weeks learning shop safety and classroom expectations. The students will each spend between 1-2 minutes at each of these stations as they try their hand at using these tools and machines.

Comparing Piston Ring Sizes

This is me, Jared Palmer, comparing piston rings. The one in a four stroke engine (or, lawn mower engine) and the one from an engine for storing natural gas underground.

So, if the small piston ring goes to the piston below, imagine the size of the piston for the natural gas storage unit...

Drew and Josh's 4 Stroke Lawnmower Enigine

After four days of hard work, Drew (left) and Josh (right), completed a 4 stroke lawnmower engine. Piston trouble caused these two young, intelligent gentlemen to spend nearly three hours completing this impressive motor.
